The Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Contemporary Childhood invites psychologists, teachers, sociologists, IT specialists and scholars of other fields to participate in a wide range of research projects focusing on contemporary children and adolescents. We welcome both accomplished scholars as well as those who are at the beginning of their professional careers: undergraduates, postgraduates and PhD students.
Centre’s Research Programme is aimed at the investigation and analysis of peculiarities of contemporary childhood with the help of L.S. Vygotsky’s concept “social situation of development”. Priority in research is assigned to the following areas: the study of the new artefacts, mediating children’s activities; the study of new social norms and currently changing social institutions. The research might focus on:
- in the field of artefacts – new information technologies, games and toys, media;
- in the field of norms – inclusion (developmental and educational trajectories of children with special needs), the attitude to the “other” (migrants etc.);
- in the field of social institutions – supplementary educatin, gamification of education etc.
We would be glad to consider your ideas and suggestions sent to the e-mail address email@example.com.
